That I am a woman. An African Woman. A Black woman. An identity that I needed to ground myself in.
That in wars, the color of the people being killed matters. That colonisation never ended. And that the majority of people in earth review africans and dark skinned people as (Less) and as inferior. Well, whether in wars or in immigration laws, basically we are reviewed as less.
That many of us feels actually inferior and less. What patriarchy and colonisation teaches I guess.
That violence against women (A global public health issue) is a reality that many people STILL deny. That sudanese women like all women in war were RAPED. That our bodies were violated.
As women, we have always been violated, in wars, but also in brothels and still are violated in many ways.
That the war doesn’t give you another option but to be yourself FULLY, to survive it. And that’s being born an african woman doesn’t give me another option but to be somehow a REBEL.
A Rebel Against it ALL..
