We are ALL creative. Creativity is something that is part of the way we are as human beings.
If we tend to complicate how we relate to our own creativity, we then somehow obstruct it from flowing freely in our lives and accordingly blocking its natural flow from pouring in our most important projects (which can be a source of frustration or lack of satisfaction).
Our creativity is the tool we were given to make our authentic footprint on earth. It is the tool to express our desires. Every one of us has her/his own individual desires that are meant to be expressed fully in our lives to reach our fullest potential in our journey.
Our creativity is the path to our self-discovery. It is also a facilitator for living the life that we want and achieve the goals we want to achieve.
We tend to link the word “creativity” to big things, big projects, big ideas, complicated projects that we didn’t complete, or what we wish secretly to create. We tend to hide our creativity and making it secret (if shame and guilt are involved), because some thoughts in our minds tell us that creativity is complicated or it is something that some of us have and other don’t have it (this is totally untrue, we ALL have it even though we maybe are taught differently).
Creativity is very simple. It is very natural. We need to get in touch with it and revive how we relate to it and let it be the powerful tool that is meant to be in our lives.
We must start relating to it as breathing. We don’t question the intelligence that’s the human body in doing its perfect automatic function of breathing; every human (with no health problem) can practise the function of breathing without thinking consciously about it.
Could it be wise to also to look into creativity like this? To consider it like this and relate to it like this?
Some simple ideas to cultivate creativity and revive it:
1) Awareness about creativity in the simple tasks: an activity like making coffee if done with awareness and attention can help us cultivate the sense of creation because it is something that we create (this cup of coffee). Combining different colours for an outfit (look at the picture with this post) is a creative activity also, giving it awareness or doing it with attention can also cultivate a sense of creation.
2) Follow the creative impulses: this could be as simple as posting something in social media. Noticing that this post is creating something and being aware about our creative power even in such an automatic act to us nowadays can help train our brains that we are creative.
3)Creative journaling: Writing about what we want to create in the world. This would give us clarity and confidence and help in cultivating the creative process.
Whatever we cultivate tends to flow in our lives. It is very important to allow the flow of creativity in our lives, and it shouldn’t be difficult or complicated.
