Baby girl, you grew up.
You grew up.
I want to tell you something: Your dreams, you are making them come true.
And the journey is very precious and delicious.
You fell in love with yourself totally after you turned 38, but look, baby you made it.
You stood up tall for every painful event, you grew up to be a very loving human. Your friends think your courage is your greatest virtue.
But I am telling you now it is your heart.
Your love for books is only increasing and your love for writing did not change a bit.
You are writing every single day.
Your smile did not change and the little girl is still vibrant as she is taking her steps following her heart and her intuition.
The faith you had as a little girl took a while to be rebuilt and it was a long hard process, but it did.
And girl you are doing well.
Remember what you felt when you read Long Walk to Freedom? well, you learned at a very young age that your blackness is a threat for some but peace can create wonders in the world. And that has benefited you as you share your life experience as a way of healing to some and understanding to others.
And you finally realised that the spirit of your grandmothers whom rode horses to wars are with you and el Hakama has took her full shape in YOU.
Your grandmothers sang using their voice. And you are writing now and recording your podcasts using your voice.
You stood and explained to others what is racism and what it means to be an African woman living in Europe.
I am my grandmothers' Daughter.
